Our Story
We Care for you
is not just a motto but a way of life for the staff
and management of Parkland Ambulance Care Ltd. Since 1974, with two staff
and two ambulances Barry and Wayne Dutchak forged a family run business that
today is one of leading services in this province. Our
mission and vision illustrate our founding principles.
Our crest tells a lot of who we are also. It is as
important as the Star of Life symbol is to
the EMS industry.
Striving to do their best everyday, with long hours
and little sleep, Barry and Wayne raised a family, grew a business and served
the public of north central Saskatchewan. In the early days training was
limited, equipment was the bare essentials and the salary minimal. "We were our own
dispatcher, driver and bookkeeper in those early days," remembers Barry. "Many a
holiday was spent caring for someone's loved one." Back then medical training
began with basic first aid and CPR. Sometimes a prayer on those tough calls made
the difference. Today with the most modern equipment, competitive salaries and a
great group of personnel, Parkland Ambulance Care Ltd., has every right
to be proud of its community achievements.
Parkland Ambulance Care promotes
an environment where everyone will be treated and spoken to with respect
and dignity
A smile and a handshake welcome you on a visit to their base of operations in
Prince Albert. From shining shoes to equally clean emergency vehicles, one can
not help but note the pride the employees have in the service. For some this
their first job on what is a promising career in EMS. For others they speak of
"old days" as their experience boasts a wealth of knowledge for this company.
"Our company is more than the walls of this
building," states Trevor Dutchak, a third generation family member now general
manager of Parkland Ambulance. "Our employees are what makes this service. When
they put on that uniform, sit behind the wheel of an ambulance or answer the
telephone, they show true professionalism and compassion each and every time."
The future is bright and many challenges await the
staff and management of Parkland Ambulance Care. As a proud partner with many
"firsts" such as the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and the
Prince Albert Parkland
Health Region, we are leaders in the emergency medical services.
Don't let anything stop you.
There will be times when you'll be disappointed, but you can't stop. Make
yourself the very best that you can make of what you are. The very best.
