Recruitment for Communications

Communications are an essential and important role for any emergency service. The emergency crews who respond to the call for help and the public at large depend on the actions of the communication center personnel.

Parkland Ambulance Care - Communications, is the communication services provider for several emergency medical and fire services. As part of the wide area dispatch system, the telecommunication staff coordinate a call for help over a large area.

Do you have what it takes to become a communications specialist? Most dispatch centers do considerable in-house training however there are some qualifications we look for when recruiting:

  • Current CPR level C (Heart Saver AED or equivalent) certification
  • Graduate of a recognized Emergency Medical Dispatch program
  • Typing proficiency of at least 40 wpm
  • Able to deal with multiple situations and sometimes very stress/emotional situations
